Stay Tuned for PCI Alumni Launch in December

On September 3, 2009, graduates of the Peace Child Israel program convened at the Arab-Hebrew Theatre in Jaffa with the objective of making Peace Child Israel a household name and putting the work it does for better shared society in Israel between Arabs and Jews on CENTER STAGE. The graduates, organized in groups according to their home towns, were asked to discuss the launch of an "alumni association" on December 31st to ring in 2010 with a bang. The hope is that the earth will shake with so much activity, all on the same day at the same hour.

With a great turnout from Qalansua, Jaffa, Sakhnin, Nazareth, Kfar Qassem and East Jerusalem, Peace Child Israel brainstorming about an alumni association was driven mainly by graduates from the Arab cities and towns where the program has operated. Many others (Jewish and Arab graduates) are interested in becoming active again but couldn't make it to Jaffa yesterday.

A list of ideas for events, to be discussed further in a forum of the leaders who arrived in Jaffa, will be published in October. There are exciting options ahead.

Brainstorming about launching an alumni association in groups according to region

A graduate from Nazareth prepared a clip "Best Memories", after schlepping from Nazareth to Jaffa and uploaded it to PCI's FaceBook ("Yalday Hashalom").  It is a chronicle of the work between the teens from Nazareth and Yagur schools during 2007/2008.

His initiative to make the clip and upload says it all.  (4-minutes)

Brainstorming

After the brainstorming session, the alumni broke the Ramadam fast together before seeing the play "Madwomen of Jaffa"
