April 9 is the anniversary of the attack by revisionist Zionists on the Arab village of Deir Yassin in 1948. This attack, which apparently resulted in the massacre of about 100 Arab inhabitants, has attracted a disproportionate amount of attention from partisans of the Palestinian cause. Deir Yassin, in more senses than one, represents the whole Palestine/Israel conflict in miniature. Palestinian advocates have made Deir Yassin a symbol of the 1948 Nakba tragedy (the flight/expulsion of refugees from Palestine), a blameless "righteous victim" at the hands of a vicious enemy.

In times past, Daniel Pipes positioned himself as the scholarly and responsible voice of right-wing reason. Therefore it was disconcerting to read his diatribe against the disengagement plan, which has appeared in various places under different titles such as "Sharon's Folly," "Ariel Sharon's Folly" and "Israel's Folly." About every other week, some "analyst" explains that the two-state solution for Palestine and Israel is just about dead because of Israeli construction in the West Bank or Palestinian demography or for some other "reason." The original author of this thesis was probably the late Edward Said. [more]

Many people hold the view that Israel was created because of the Holocaust. It is a view that is impossible to prove or disprove, because you cannot re-run the film of history without the Holocaust and see what would have happened. [more]
